Meditation Feels Like A Struggle? Here Are Some Quick Tips To Deepen Your Practice.

When I first starting meditating 3 years ago, I didn’t know it would have such a major impact on my life. 🧘🏻‍♂️

Everything from better sleep… 🛏️

To more elevated states of peace and joy… 😀

To being more productive… 👨🏻‍💻

To entering flow states when working on creative projects… ⚡

To heightened intuition… 💡

To relating and connecting authentically with others. 🤝🏾

But most importantly to being fully present no matter what I am doing.

And none of it has to do with “quieting my mind” or shutting off my thoughts.

I started an ongoing YouTube series on meditation quick tips to help new meditators with any hurdles or resistance they might be facing.

I know when I first started I was caught up in “am I doing this right.” Or “when do I get launched into an alternate reality”.

While meditation is a skill — it’s not about being good or bad at it or doing it the “right way”.

And it’s definitely not about morphing into a bliss bunny as delightful as that may sound.

It’s about having an experience of stillness, going inward, and witnessing what that feels like.

Biggest Hurdles for New Meditators

These are the biggest hurdles I have found for those new to meditation and the biggest barriers to entry for non-meditators:

  • Inability to sit still quiet doing nothing
  • Boredom from focusing on the breath
  • Trying desperately quiet their minds of all thoughts.
